History

Apple Federal Credit Union has long valued its involvement in the community. As a not-for-profit organization, Apple has always given charitably to the education community and has a deep sense of social responsibility. Several years ago, the Apple Board voted to donate a percentage of annual earnings to charitable giving, much of which went to scholarships and grants. However, as Apple grew, questions arose: how can we do more? How can we handle additional charitable requests related to our educational affiliation?

In response, Apple created an independent charitable non profit foundation. After doing research and evaluation to assess its feasibility, the Apple Board of Directors approved the creation of a foundation. The Apple Federal Credit Union Education Foundation was incorporated in Virginia on May 22, 2006. The Foundation has a separate Board and an Executive Director.

As a public charity, Apple FCU Education Foundation is committed to prudent management of funds and open disclosure of financial activities. Below find key documents that provide the facts and figures.
