What is the Apple Scholars Program?

$4,000 Scholarships for 32 Students!
The Apple FCU Education Foundation will award a total of 32 scholarships of $4,000 in May to deserving 2012 high school graduates who are members of Apple FCU. Because the Foundation believes that strong communities are built through individual contributions, all 32 Apple scholarships will go to responsible students who have demonstrated a commitment to helping their school and/or community.

Who will be selected?

Students who are in one or more of the following categories:

• Attending a four-year college or university.
• Attending a two-year college.
• Involved in NOVA's Pathway to the Baccalaureate program. 
• Working in a student-run branch of the Apple FCU.
• Participating in a Teacher Cadet program.

Who is eligible?

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Students who have a GPA of 2.8 or above.
• Students who are members of Apple FCU.
  You can join at a local Apple Federal Credit Union branch. If you have any questions, please call us at the Apple FCU Foundation office: 571-321-1800.

How will finalists be chosen?

• A committee made up of twelve representatives from various segments of the community Apple FCU serves will evaluate your application.
• Your application will be judged on its completeness and strict adherence to application requirements and due dates.
• Winners will be notified by the Foundation in early May 2012.

How do I apply?

Scholarship applicants must complete both parts of a two-step application process:

Your application will only be considered if we receive:

• Step 1 electronically by February 15, 2012.
• Step 2 by mail postmarked by February 15, 2012.

Your complete application for the Apple Scholars 2012 scholarship includes two steps.

Step 1

The online application period has closed.

Step 2

Download and complete Step 2. Send paper copies of the required documents via U.S. mail.

Must be postmarked no later than
February 15, 2012.

Step 2 will include:

• Cover Sheet Checklist
• Unofficial transcript from your high school. (Selection committee will verify.)
• Two letters of reference (see application for requirements).
