Five Tips For Completing Your Application

  1. Do not use Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.
The online application does not work with the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. Instead, use another browser like Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari.
  2. Keep track of your progress.
Once you have started work on your application, you can go back in, continue work and monitor your progress. You have until February 13, 2019—at midnight!— to make sure all parts of the application including your letters of reference have been submitted. There are no exceptions. You will receive periodic emails from us about your application’s status including one that will provide you with a confirmation code notifying you that your complete application has been successfully submitted.
  3. Know exactly how your name appears on your Apple FCU account.
To qualify for an Apple scholarship, you must be the primary account holder of an Apple FCU account (being listed on a parent or guardian account is not sufficient) and know how your exact name appears on your account. Find exactly how your name appears by looking at one of your account statements. If you do not have an account and would like to open one, go to an Apple FCU branch. You can find branch locations at
  4. Scan a copy of your unofficial high school transcript.
You can get a copy of your unofficial transcript from your counselor. Once you receive your paper copy, scan and save it as a .jpeg or .pdf file to your computer. When you get to that question on the application, you will find the prompts to upload your scanned unofficial transcript into your application.
  5. Collect information for your two letters of reference.
Determine the two people you would like to provide letters of reference. Contact each of these people to ask permission. Collect from each of them the following four pieces of information: first and last name; email address; title; and name of their organization. You will provide that information on your application. Tell your reference writer to watch for an email request from Apple FCU Education Foundation that will provide instructions on how to submit their letter of reference directly to us. It is your responsibility to make certain those letters have been sent. You can monitor that on your application screen, and we will send you emails when we receive them.
