Apple FCU Foundation supports new teacher mentoring programs in 12 Northern Virginia school divisions.

Apple Teacher Mentors

Nearly 40% of new teachers leave the profession within 5 years. Mentors are a proven way to support new teachers through those challenging first years in the classroom. The AFCU Foundation is proud to work with 12 Northern Virginia school divisions to support teacher mentoring programs that pair new teachers with a learning-focused mentor who had been trained to deliver high quality support. More than 30,000 local teachers have benefited from these programs. For more information contact director@afcufoundation.org.

Apple Impact Grant

Teachers are continually looking for new ways to enhance student learning. Yet, innovation requires a source of funding for new programs and equipment, which is a challenge for most school systems. The Apple FCU Foundation recognizes innovative teachers through Apple Impact Grants, which provide awards in support of initiatives that introduce new opportunities to students.
